I purchased a limited Steyr Pro Hunter II from a member here. The rifle was sold as NIB. Unfortunately after several times to range it shot in patterns. I sent it in to Steyr. Steyr confirmed that it did not meet their requirements, and offered a new rifle to me. The stock is no longer made, but overall they corrected the problem. I wasn't expecting that. Nice to see they stand behind their products. I'll buy more in the future.

I believe the stock on the Pro Hunter II is just a Boyds Laminate Prairie Hunter in a camo pattern if you wanted to replace.

Owned quite a few and never heard of one that wouldn’t shoot.

Own about 6 different Steyrs and all have never had an issue. Glad they stood behind it, I know I have called up in Bama and actually talked to an Austrian sounding fella about scope bases/rings and he was really helpful!!!

Steyr makes good firearms, but as my luck would have it I got a subpar rifle. Just took the new one out to range, its shooting .850 to an inch with varget and 140 partitions. Tried ballistic tips and h4350 as well. Playing with seating. Hoping for 3/4 inch 3 shot groups but it is hunting accuracy ready! 140 Ballistic tips H4350

The first Steyr I bought years ago was a plain-Jane Pro Hunter in 308. I tried a few different factory loads, and the Hornady Light Mag 150gr Interlock consistently shot 1/4" groups. Not bad for a $500 rifle (at that time) :-)

The above groups won't win any matches, but will work for elk. Im fine tuning them. The gun has less then 40 rds, through it now. The barrel is getting broken in slowly. Ill sit back down at reloading bench today.
