I was left a 308 1964 M-70 push feed with Bushnell Banner 2.5 . It's even has tip off Weaver mounts . I know about the rifle, I have a much modified one in 30-06 but nothing about the scope. It has a post and line reticle.

Is it a 20mm objective ? I think they were made from the mid 60s thru mid 80s. Does it say made in Japan? What are you trying to find out about it?

I've ended up with a couple of lever guns over the years...
I could always see thru them, which worked with my non perfect eye sight.
They were reliable scopes...

Banners were Bushnell's mid-grade scopes, below Scopechiefs and above Sportviews.
I have a 2.5x20 Banner with post and crosshair reticle that came on a Husqvarna 640 strengthened small ring Mauser in 8x57. It works fine and has held its zero. They are old scopes with old optics, so better suited to casual hunting and plinking applications IMO.

They were made by Bausch and Lomb in Japan and are pretty good scopes from my experience. I have used the 2.5 and 4X B&L Banner scopes on many rifles over the years. Never had one fail yet, but glass is obviously not a bright a modern scopes.

Yes i, it has a 20mm objective . I would say it was bought with the rifle in '64 and like the rifle, barely used. It was more of a question about their reliability . Since I mostly hunt at 3x anyway, it was a question whither to replace or not. Man, that's a club of a stock, though.
