Got to thinking, wouldn't it be great if Old Joe made a statement to the effect that his son was being unfairly singled out; most people don't even get charged for this stuff?

I promise you, an Asst. U.S. Attorney once told me they would not prosecute a felon with a firearm unless there was another more serious charge to go with it. Said they did not have the resources for that minor violation. Makes me wonder why they want to expand firearm restrictions.

I know for at least the last 5 years ago the Pa State Police have ramped up investigations/prosecution of background check denials, etc here and pressed the local PDs to do the same within their jurisdictions. Believe unsworn falsification is their go to charge. Never understood the sense in that as the "system" "worked" and the firearm purchase was denied so the supposed "bad guy" didnt get the intended gun! Surely it jams up more "innocent" people who honestly had no clue that a DUI etc 20+ years ago barred them from firearm ownership, as I dont know of many felons etc who go to a gun shop to try to buy a firearm!

Like every charge, accusation, or indictment that targets a democrat nothing will come of this. Just makes for an opportunity for Fox News to sensationalize another wild goose chase. I hate it, but it's true.

i had a DWi in 93 in college, and in 2010 i went to buy my wife a sweet little 28 gauge OU. i was put on hold, and less than a week later freaking atf calls my cell phone, i thought it was a joke and hung up! they called a second time and i told the guy to quit messing with me that paybacks are hell. i listened to the 3rd call and got a lawyer buddy to clear that up real quick, but i still cringe filling that 4473 out and usually get delayed a day or 2 now.
far as i remember i didnt lie on the 4473, i still am not a felon!
