It arrived today...Septober... It's the 15th of September through the 15th of October. As soon as you know it, it'll be Festivus!  The weather is great, fishing starts getting good again, the dogs are energized by the cooler days, and the hunting seasons all open, well...most of them.

This morning is opener for Northern Calif blacktail season...wish I could share your enthusiasm, 52 in the valley this morning, probably 60 deg at my 6,000 ft destination calling for a high of 90, no rain since Noah built that boat...deer will be well forewarned of my progress...crunch crunch, snap crackle and pop. An audio of my hunt would sound like a fire drill at the Kelloggs factory. But, sigh, it's my bounden duty to try and keep the gene pool weeded of small stupid bucks. But, on a note of optimism, there's always a chance I will be attacked by a tender young grouse, they are somewhat easier to get down to the trailhead.
Well this is a fine pickle we're in, should'a listened to Joe McCarthy and George Orwell I guess.

Yes very good months Sep./ Oct. Feels like fall here 49 this mor. then 75 for the high. Good hunting weather. Good luck with your hunting and don't step on that grouse. They always get my heart pumping.

It’s a little cooler, high supposed to be 89. If it stays below 90, it will be first time since May.
