Not sure where the pic came from, but the poor ol' deer there don't stand a chance! grin

I had a cell camera going off near my house this morning. Was making my trigger finger itch!

I checked my zero with night vision this weekend. When they mess around and start keeping regular hours, I'll make some night hunts. Weather is starting to cool off enough for it.

It can be done if you've got some sounders that tend to hang around for a bit. I've found that the sows with piglets will generally linger and try to vacuum up all the corn while the lone boars often will only eat for a couple of minutes and move on. Some of my spots are about a mile away and I can get there pretty quickly by ATV or SxS and slip in on foot. If they've left the camera site, they are often still in the same area and you can sometimes locate them by sound. Can be rather fun at times.

We don’t trap a lot because we have bears. Most of the guys around us that do run traps, they elect to use the cellular camera gate traps so they know they are trapping just hogs.

The bears couldn’t get over a 4 foot fence?? I was talking about a round pen. This pen is 34”, have caught many a Dumass pig in it.

This is a dedicated pig pen. It was 5’, but cut it down recently. Had a couple of deer caught. If there were bears you would have to string a cable between two trees, winch feeder up off a pulley on the cable.

Yeah, we were using box traps for a while, before the bears spread. The dedicated local guys use the pen style traps like yours. There is also a new trap on the market that uses a batting cage type of netting material. A guy sent me a picture last week of some success he had with one of those.

We have one of those “batting cage” traps. It’s called a Pig Brig. Works well bit can’t say how it would hold up with a bear because, thankfully, they are very few in our area. Otherwise, I can recommend it.

I saw a video of the net trap. I wonder how it weathers??
