Yup. Always enjoyable for fools to lump all of PA into the chithole that is filthadelphia. Heart and soul of PA is red, deep red. Until the voter fraud is fixed and the evil dems are thrown in jail, this is what happens. Unfortunately, the entire country is heading for this

I saw the same article and was immediately PO'ed.

https://www.lancasterfarming.com/co...c92600c-5256-11ee-8248-33cfbc91ffab.html

I did some digging in the Pa House and Senate websites but can't seem to find out who submitted the amendment to take the money. I did contact my state rep and expressed my opinion on this money and power grab. We'll see what happens.

From my reading of the bill, I don't see them paying taxes on the land. In the past, I think they have been paying a 'fee in lieu of taxes' of $1.20 per acre to local schools and townships. Looks to me like the fee goes to $2.40 per acre under the new bill. And that applies to the Fish and Boat Commission and DCNR also. That's if I read it right...

Anyway, still not happy.

The renter tapped into the golden spigot somehow.
An excavator spent much of the summer putting in a big cistern, pumps, and thousands of feet of pipe. To supply 5 or 6 watering stations.

A golden setup, and it wasn't just to keep them out of the crick.
Several stations are in place that weren't accessible to water (a road)
before!

I'm still passed our tax money went to projects like that.

We can't let the Liberals wreck our hunting, while sacrificing our money to bureaucratic waste and such idiotic projects.

I work in the conservation field. Sounds like you are describing a project to improve the grazing system. Probably a couple year project with the fencing coming later this year or next. It's kind of hard to install water lines if you put the fence in first. Most funding sources for this type of work require a stream bank fence that is back at least 35 feet from the stream.

Once the system is installed and operational, the pastures aren't overgrazed, grass grows better, soil health improves, rainfall infiltrates (and replenishes groundwater) instead of running off, and less manure nutrients and sediment reach the stream. Tax dollars involved yes but end result is improved resources for the public at large.

Dale,

These political issues suck for me.
All my Reps are Republican, and like minded.
No use bothering them, they are already on track.
Do mention things if our paths cross.

Of course there are the US Senators (not involved in this obviously)
they are the enemy and DGAFF what we think. The Corners elect them.

The fence is already in on that pasture.

Tax money was a primary complaint.

The stupid use and "payback" is the kicker.
This is leased pasture, he doesn't even own it. The owner is a DC/Baltimoron, gotta be in his 80s, his only daughter is in her 50s. They haven't been around in decades.
I'd bet it will be sold, when he dies, and developed. Cityboy in the country style.

Phil can't afford it, and he will never earn a profit equal to the cost of the project.

No, I am not. But.... mine can at least form coherent sentences and present themselves as the professional white collar criminals that they are. Compared to Fetterman, Dr. Oz is not looking so bad now!

This pretty much nails it. Pennsylvania is 85% mountains, hills and ridges. Amongst these there are farms, little towns and such. I bet you a million freaking dollars that you’ll probably find rednecks, hunters, and gun enthusiasts behind those doors.
The trouble is that schitholes like Philly, Scranton, Harrisburg and Pittsburgh control the state.
Any democrat has a built in lead of 15% over any conservative.
All any of us ask, is to allow us to hunt, fish, and shoot, basic liberties covered in the Constitution.
We are the people who just want to be left alone!
Like that meme says, once you wake us up, you’re gonna have a fight on your hands.
And let me tell you, Pennsylvania isn’t that unique.
Of the 50 states, there are millions of us. We ain’t blind. We can see what’s happening.
We love the nation that we grew up in, and we’ll fight the death to preserve that nation for our children, and their children.
I don’t know what will light the fuse, but you who wish to destroy us, are sitting on a powder keg!
Myself and millions of my brothers and sisters have sworn our lives to preserve the US Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic.
Give us a try.
Reon

Fettermen to his credit missed 40% of the roll call votes, nullifying the slight majority the Bolsheviks have in the senate. I am willing to bet your Senators never missed a vote to destroy America.

Agreed. The broad strokes folks here tend to paint in lumping the state(s) as purposely left-leaning has always been a bit peculiar to me. MN, WI and MI are no different from PA – generally conservative states with liberal metro areas and smaller towns with universities.

The "way-to-go insert state" responses are always amusing.

Well Elmer, you are in luck.

For a simple free phone call you can bitch to him.
And let your vote affect his.
Talk to like minded folks, explain the importance of a call,
and not to let on the cal is part of a group.

Rush Limbaugh claimed that politicians consider a call to be the voice of 1000 constituents. For a State legislator, that can't be ignored.

Now I gotta double check mine, maybe DB needs to call!

Skane,
Look at election maps.
If one is from Oklahoma, maybe they can run their mouth.
Stupid, and displaying it, but OK doesn't have red

The other 49 are purple, just in varying shades.

A few New England states are or near solid blue.
Check out Kalifornia on a By County election map.
Even that state is at least half red.

When a state elects a retard, that state is going to be mocked for electing a retard.

Such is life.

The Pa Game Commission is already an extension of the left...They no longer represent Pa hunters and the management of game animals for future generations.

Why do they spend resources to benefit taking care of Eagles, Hawks and Owls. They watched Pa wild Pheasants disappear and did nothing. Same with the Ruffed Grouse. At one time Pa was a Bird hunters paradise...No more. They cater to the Bow and Crossbow hunters while giving the rifle hunter two weeks. Why? Those rifles cause them too many problems. They try to kill most every mountain Doe with a Anterless license. Under the pretense it will allow the forest to regenerate. A mature forest doesn't regenerate unless it is removed and a young growth forest takes its place. Timber companies pay good money to do exactly that. However, the GC....which owns millions of acres....thinks it will happen by killing every Doe. Reality is they BS the unknowing thinking it will work.

They could timber harvest, make millions, and at the same time make millions of acres of excellent habitat for the Deer herd. Their numbers would explode quickly. Give those same acres to the QDM people and they would make it one huge food plot of new growth forest. But not the Pa GC.

The Pa GC no longer represents the Pa hunter....Independent? Hardly....they do what they are told by the politicians.
