4x Bushnell on my 336. A Centennial model, Dad bought it for me in 1981, scope has been on there every minute. Not used much, but it still works.
Knarly, Might be things you don't understand.
Vision issues. Trying to pick holes in brush. Point restrictions, in brush.
If your eyesight makes those a non-issue, I envy you.

I have a Vortex 3-9X50 on my 45/70.

Sold the old 94 with an ACOG... Frankly it was a dumb setup... Holosun 510 from now on.
If you are not actively engaging EVERY enemy you encounter... you are allowing another to fight for you... and that is cowardice... plain and simple.

IF... I had to do so, it would be a 2.5x Leupold or a 1.5x5 variable. Very fortunate with my eyesight being as good as it is. I’m in my 50’s
Thanks, Tom

This is the kinda thread that reminds me people think they are better than they are. Anybody that hunts woods knows for damn sure a scope is an advantage over eyes and irons. Especially that “125 yard” dis. I’ve seen deer vanish in brush 20 yards away to my eyes that I could see in a scope.
Silly rabbits.

Just one lever with a scope. Guide Gun with a Leupold 2.5X20 UL.
Tough scope, eyebox is not quite as generous as a 1-4 or 1.5-5, but the UL is lighter and eye relief of 4.9 inches is welcome on that rifle.

Wha coo takin bout Willis? My 1886 and 1894 Winnys don’t wear scopes.
The Marlins, 30-30 and 45-70 do. Both have a simple 3x9-40 on them. That’s about the most versatile woods scope there is.

Leupold 2.5-8x36 on BLR 308
Nikon 2-8x36 on Marlin .45/70
Williams receiver sight on .405

Silly rabbits. No, I just use a different rifle. I understand the advantages of which you speak. So I grab a bolt rifle with an appropriate telescopic sight. Pretty simple. My fav being an old 98 Mauser in 30/06 with pre-war, claw mounted 4x Nickel Scope with #1 recticle. Great in S. Texas brush and oak motts. But why D & T one of my 95’s for a scope?

This old American made 4x Burris Mini fit nicely on my 16" Marlin 30-30. Put 3 into about 1.5"s at 150 yards. Just about 3"s low.

Lever guns do fine with tang sights or receiver peeps. Even with vision fading I shoot ~2 MOA with a tang sight on a .45-70 at 100 yds.
I am..........disturbed.
