If you find one at a good price it is a nice unit. It can be ganged with otherYamahas , if you need more watts.I think good fresh gas is a key for any generator. So the option to run the carb dry is a “must have” for me. I run no ethanol with stabil. When it will sit, I dump the gas in the lawn mower, and run the generator dry.

Been pondering buying a dual fuel.
I don't have any use for a generator, want one for the blackouts
that will be coming.

One can pickup 100# propane tanks from Marketplace for $50-$100.
Two or three of them can sit around indefinitely, without worry of fuel degradation. Each offering 8-10 hours run time. And no worry with gummed up carb or other fuel issues.

While still having the option of using gasoline.

Not worried about running the house lit up like a stadium.
3 hours a day run time to pump water, cycle the fridge and freezers,
possibly the water heater (alone or with a couple lights),
would keep us comfy enough.

Don't jack your root too much longer the biden fugs want to outlaw them. My local power Co engineer said that the 12,500 dual fuel Westinghouse worked exceedingly well for use with auto shutoff on the commercial feed to generator switch over. 12,500 on gas 11000 something on propane . Also has a remote start
Got mine at Sam's for 1050 including comm truck delivery. And no you ain't picking it up by yourself...mb

That's about what it'd take to run both air conditioners and anything else in that rig. A microwave and a electric water heater would probably still challenge a 5500 with everything running at once.

I can go bigger. Just need a forklift or my kids to put it in the trailer.

I bought 2 of these.

https://www.samsclub.com/p/aipower-sua2300i-ultra-quiet-inverter-generator/prod22271213

They were about $100 each cheaper when I bought mine though. I've used them for 3 years now with no issues. One always starts on the 1st pull of the rope. The other usually needs 3.

They are comparable to the Honda, but I got 2 for less than 1 Honda would have cost. I can run everything but the AC in my small travel trailer on just 1. Normally I only carry one when traveling but have the option of using both together if I need the AC at 30 amps.

At about 50 lbs each it is a lot easier to load and move around.

Any of them can be converted to LP, Nat Gas capable. Bolt-on kits.

We bought this one for the house. The one we got is gasoline only but I found the NG/propane carburetor online for about $40 so bought it also just incase.

I wired it to the breaker box with a transfer switch and it's own breaker. It easily powers the whole house. I love when the power goes out and we are the only ones lit up like a Christmas tree.

I also built a hydrogen generator and am trying to find out if I can use it to power the generator.

It is built in, once installed. Super simple to do.

I might be the only one who's had a problem with a Predator. Bought just before Christmas last year and have run it twice to "exercise" it. Second time it wouldn't shut off with the switch, had to starve it for fuel by closing the vent on the gas cap.

Harbor Freight says it's past the 90 day warranty so it's my problem since I didn't buy the extended warranty. Haven't had a chance to take it apart to see what's wrong. I assume the shutoff switch isn't shorting out like it's supposed to so I'll just have to track down where the failure is.

I'm thinking I might be able to redneck something to the outside if nothing else.

The first time I fired it up it started on the first half-hearted pull. I was impressed by that. I bought a Generac at the same time and it started on the first pull as well.

Buddy got one and please with it. Only issue he has had is with an CO sensor because he keeps it in his shed when he runs it. Another issue is a wire that is easily cut by the frame due to vibrations when running, but that was a quick fix.

I wouldn't call to CO sensor triggering a generator issue, more like a dumbass issue for running it in an enclosed area.

Picked this Ryobi 6500 up last fall, factory blemish.
$600
Haven't run it other than monthly maintenance so far.
Starts first pull and I plug something into it each run.
Just have to look for deals.

Champion 2500W Dual Fuel

I have the 2000W Champion Dual Fuel generator and while there's a lot I like about it, I was surprised how much oil it burned over the 4 days we were without power this January.

Champion 2500W Dual Fuel

Not dual fuel, but 3,600 watts at 46 pounds and 65 decibels @ $450 delivered

https://wenproducts.com/products/we...quiet-and-lightweight-with-fuel-shut-off

If I parallel two I can run a 1/8" welding rod.

I like the fuel shut off feature... The HF models do not have it.

haven't run ours more than a day or two at a time, but they aren't consuming any significant oil that I've noticed. I did walk thru the initial break in on both, and so far they've been great.
