In general, used car prices are crashing right now. If you're basing your pricing expectations around prices from even a year ago, you'll be disappointed.

I doubt Carmax is going to pay anything close to what you think its worth - they are hurting right now with the current car market. You never know though.

What guide can be used to figure a selling price for my 2011 Chevy Avalanche. I looked at KBB and it seems low, although I am partial to my truck, $9700 to $12300 KBB. Contact Carvana, you might be surprised.

I see several different "we'll buy your car" ads on TV. Using it as a trade-in is always available, but you'll get the worst price for it that way. Just for kicks, advertise it as $25,000 - OBO. No matter what you get offered, you can always claim you have a higher one.

Ok, I should have updated this story in March. I put a price of $16,000 on it and put it out at the end of my driveway on Friday afternoon April 7th. Put it back in the garage that night. Saturday morning I was driving it back out to the end of the driveway and a guy was driving by with an older black Avalanche. He stopped, backed up and pulled in the driveway. Looked it over and bought it. Never even took it for a drive.
I was happy for a while but then my new truck had problems so I am still without a truck to this day. A couple sad stories this year with purchasing a new truck...

Post it on Fakebook Marketplace @ $18k.
Lots of pics and details... you will get lots of offers and hits. (Mexicans, Muslims, Asians and Libs will offer $3k... and then never actually show-up)
In the end (week or three) take the best cash offer or trade that you get.
Otherwise, drive it to CarMax and be happy with the $4,500 offer.
