My dad was in his 80’s when he cut a big branch on a neighbor’s tree. He was up on a ladder 10’ over a concrete patio and fell. He spent 3 months in a coma, had brain damage which developed into Alzheimer’s! He was in great shape for an eighty year old, but this ruined his life.

The neighbors could have afforded to hire a company to do this, but my Dad always doing stuff like this. Like the time he built a ramp so my fiancé could get her wheelchair into our apartment.

You should never do stuff like this when you’re in your in your eighties. Don’t know where the cutoff is, but it’s not worth risking the consequences.

the same thing happened to my buddy's Dad except he was in a coma for only a few days and recovered, he was about 81 when it happened.

If you pull up the Youtube video of Dr. McGuff and his 12 black swans to avoid, old white men on ladders is one of them along with gas grills and ATV 4 wheelers, and diving head first into unknown waters.
