Yes a lot, I find it the fastest and most enjoyable route to the Grand Canyon South Rim or North Rim, or Havasu stuff.

I can be checked into El Tovar drinking a beer on the rim faster than I can drive east out of Texas much less West.

Still no gambling there in Boulder City I'd imagine. Was a nice place to live for a minute back in '06-'07. Can't remember the name of the place, but there was excellent breakfasts there and for this SoCal boy, perhaps more importantly, a Roberto's with SoCal style (real, that is) Mexican food.

Excelllent range there, pretty sure that is still open on the other side of a freeway now.

Maybe the best thing back then.................NO HOMELESS. I think the coppers drove them to Railroad Pass or to the dam and said "bye bye".

As mentioned. lived in the area for awhile and actually in BC for a year or so. Got out of our little house just before market crashed. Checked a year or so after we sold it and it was up for sale for about $70k less than we sold it. We broke even, considering RE fees and such. At the time we bought, much higher price than in Henderson or LV, but it was closer to my job and my wife worked in town there.

LV was good for dinner at times, if we could live with getting past the smoking to get to the restaurant. Hotel/Casino at the dam we used more frequently as there were matinee movies for like $5 or $6. Dinner wasn't bad there either.

Airport was convenient, too.

I liked playing blackjack there when they still had $1 or even $2 single deck tables and I was still drinking. I had a good memory still and could hold my own especially considering the free drinks and silver dollar tip to the waitress for each one. They liked me smile Drink were always good.

When I lived in SoCal would throw a $20 bill in the glove box of the '78 Subaru wagon and take what I could afford to "lose", drink, eat steak and egg breakfast for $2.99, gamble, drink, eat dinner and have enough money for gas to get back, a burger or two, and a pack of smokes. And have more fun that day than I could partying at the bars at home.

Now, I hate having to drive through it just to get to my AZ hunts. Will have to get through there in about a month for a muzzleloader hunt in late Oct. I can bypass Reno traffic from where I live, but not Vegas (not easily). Since we left more freeways way out to the NW of town, more traffic, more A-hole drivers, etc. NVHunter knows exactly what I'm talking about. Growth has not slowed substantially since we left in '07. Maybe some little pauses, but still growing. If I was rich and could handle flying in today's world, I'd just fly into Flagstaff and get someone to drive me to my hunting spot!

They have diversified some in the last 15 years or so.

They still seem to prefer the tall, more slender versions though.

Yes Sir Geno. There's no homeless and no gambling and yes that range is still open. Roberto's is even in Reno with two locations and one in Carson City. Please hit me up if you're coming this way and I'll buy you lunch or dinner and would love to meet you.

Will do, but I'm likely coming down through Gerlach and into Fernley/Fallon and on down 95 to AZ. As I recall, you're a bit north of Reno, no? Maybe if I tag out early I'll come back through the Biggest Little City.

If not then, maybe in the spring after the snow stops flying I'll make a run down there to the Costco and Cabelas for some big town shopping.

Drove through there a long time ago with my pal Hunter.

It was scary and we loathed it.

Gone a couple times for SHOT Show. Planning to go this coming Jan for SHOT.
Wouldn't go otherwise though, just not into gambling or the shows etc.

I'd be in on multiple fronts. Was just at the folks place in Empire this last weekend. And Gerlach is where I gradiated from.

Gerlach appears to be a nice place to graduate from!

Quite a bit of playing back then. T'was a busy time.

My father-in-law is retired from the Santa Fe Opera and the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra. French Horn and instrument tuning.
Could be way off, but from that info would surmise that he played most of the year in LPO and summer stints in the SFO. Interesting outdoor type house there. What is meant by instrument tuning?

I think it was back in the day. Way back in the late 60'S they still had a Latin and Greek and even French clubs in practice. Not so much in the late 70's. More of a Hippies Vs Cowboys kinda thing. I was on the wild side being a long hair but a Cowboy at heart.

Many times. Mostly good memories. Celebrity shows and entertainers were terrific. Great food! Would jump at going again if an opportunity arose.

Been there many times.

One time there for an electronics convention.

Got a kick out of ducking into the Debbie Reynolds Casino in the early 1990’s. Nothing there but old people … even the hookers were in their 50s.

I have spent more time passing thru Las Vegas NV, versus visiting it...

when I've visited it a lot was back in when I was part of the corporate world, doing trade shows etc.

Its a pain in the ass to pass thru today...

I've also been to Las Vegas NM.. we got a real good campfire member and his lovely wife who live there.
I prefer to spend time in LV NM vs Las Wages NV.
