With the ridiculous cost and lack of availability of BH209, I was considering a smokeless barrel for my Encore. Looks like most people are using Hankins or Arrowhead barrels, just wondered what else might be out there and if anybody has had any first hand experience with either one of those companies. Thanks in advance.

I ordered a 45-70 barrel from MGM for my TC Pro hunter. I sent it to Hankins for his conversion. I use large rifle magnum primers. It will shoot a 3 shot group sub moa at 100 yds with 60grs of IMR 4198 and 275gr Parker BE Bullets. I'm very happy with it. I have heard good things about Arrowhead barrels as well. I'm sure either one will work for you.

I received my barrel from Hankin's Monday, haven't shot it yet but workmanship look to be on par with my Bullberry 264WM. I have had a 45/70 conversion with a 209 Arrowhead plug for about 5-6 yrs but could never get smooth sized bullets to shoot due to the barrel inconsistencies so it was sabots only. I gifted it to my daughter and bought the Hankin's for me to try full bore smooth sizing. I think there at 3 still showing available on his website once gone it might be a while, I first contacted him in April about mine.
