I would like to have something that will pull me out and I can put in the back of My LX 570. Really don't want to mount on on the front cause some times I don't want to get further stuck.

I have had two come a longs with cable and both ended up binding. Bought one that had a web and it also went tits up from just strapping something down on a trailer.

Has anyone used one of those little battery powered PullzAll from Warn?

My buddy who hunts bear with dogs and has to haul the bears out in horrible places uses a gas powered chainsaw winch.

Portable and flexible to use use where needed.

I have a Warne portable winch that is 110V and rated for iirc 1500lbs. It’s about the size of the power head on a Stihl 031 so it’s not too big or heavy. I’ve had it for years and I don’t recall having to use it yet since I’m still young enough and strong enough to be able to throw 1500 pounds around without help but that day is coming…

Stuck in deep mud that 6000 pound rig needs a 9000 pound winch. Hidden under a custom bumper. Front or back doesn’t matter. With the right gear, and anchors you can pull both ways. Don’t rely on a elk winch as a vehicle winch, it will bite you in the buttocks! When the going gets tough.

I use a 10,000 pound warn winch mounted on a rear hitch cradle when I take my 2011 Land Cruiser anywhere it can get stuck. You have to use good chains, snatch blocks, pull straps and rig up a way to get electric off the vehicle back to the winch, but any good off-road shop can hardwire that up for you or you just carry a really long jumper cable along with you. You can have them install a front hitch too while you are there.

Why not fabricate a 2" receiver to the front as well as that back and then get a receiver plate the winch mounts on. Then you can move it from the front or back depending on where you are stuck

Female welding receptacles, mounted in the rear bumper, with welding cable running to the batteries. Same in front. With male plugs on the cables. I put them on both ends of my trooper, receivers on each end. The pickup winch is permanently mounted to the front. My back doesn’t like carrying the winch in the cradle. The damn thing gets heavy in deep mud.

As has been mentioned. A receiver front and back with a quick plug in winch that you can put on either end. Always carry something that you can lay over the cable or strap to foul it in case you snap it pulling.

Chain saw powered winches?

Hmmmmm? I wonder how the Stihl MSA 300 C-O 36V electric powerhead would work?

These connectors would be handier than welding plugs. They come in various sizes. They are commonly used to connect the battery on an electric lift truck which draws many more amps than a winch. They are used through the grill to attach jumper cables without lifting the hood. I use them on my boat to feed the electric trolling motor, and another set to the 20 hp kicker.

I have a Lewis chainsaw winch, it pulls 4,000 lbs straight pull, use a snatch block and it is 8,000 lbs.
You need a 65-80cc saw to run it properly. It is unique in that I don't need anything to run but fuel.

I use mine for skidding bucked up logs, 100ft of cable, great for hunting or use with a 4 wheeler, bad azz.

It sounds like the aforementioned Stihl battery saw is equivalent to a 40-45 CC gas engine. Probably too small to be effective.
