I have a Tikka T3x Superlite chambered in7mm-08. I was playing with the 150Eld-x bullets, and wanted to seat them closer to the lands. I bought a replacement long action magazine which allows me to kiss the lands. If I keep the bullets touching the front of the magazine, the bolt will pick up and chamber the next round. I filled it with 3 and tried to chamber/ eject all 3. Problem is when I cycle the bolt, the friction bumps the bullet below it back to the point the bolt will not pick up the next round. It is kind of sad since it should work in theory. Not sure what to do at this point other than get the long action bolt stop and turn it onto a true long action. Any other suggestions?

With the factory mag the Eld-x shot about 1.5 at 100 yards

Could modify your stop to slightly longer but not as long as a full length. Or somehow block the back of the mag at the correct length

I think someone probably told you to buy a M+ magazine and try that. Yet, some guys insist on buying the long action (30-06 length) magazines, that could potentially cause issues. Be sure you are using a long action bolt stop and if you use a M+ magazine, you will be able to load out to the lands and you don't have to worry about putting something in the back of the mag to limit it.
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

My bad! In was in too much a hurry to research much. Just assumed the next size was a long action magazine for 30-06 length. Realized that the m+ is for the 6.5 Creedmoor and is falls between the short and long. I really didn’t know what people meant by m+, should have asked! Oh well, anyone want to buy my long action magazine?!!!!
