Amazing scenery. Thanks for sharing.
Interesting claw on the lobster.

KG, I enjoyed your posts. Thank you. Loads of envy here. L.W.

It was great meeting you, buddy! I had a blast! Wish we could have found you a moose. That bear was a nice surprise though! Looking forward to getting together again at some point, on one side of the country or the other!

It was great meeting you, buddy! I had a blast! Wish we could have found you a moose. That bear was a nice surprise though! Looking forward to getting together again at some point, on one side of the country or the other! 100%. It was fantastic to meet you brother and I'm in your debt for all you did for me. Taking time out of your busy life to share your chariot, your skills, awesome company and a wicked lovely family to boot. Moose was of course the main target and while I never got a crack at one, you and SD and others made the trip a complete blast and we made a run at it. I was just kind of along for the ride. You driving the boat and spotting the bear. SD telling me to put my camera down, handing me a rifle and telling me to shoot the damned thing. With moose on the brain I'd totally forgotten I bought a bear tag. All I did was slap the trigger and help drag and skin the thing out... Things sometimes don't go as planned, but that's hunting and life, right? The cabin falling through, the early bad weather, the poor tides and a much lower population of moose than years past. Only got out to the hunt area three days out of a scheduled two week trip, but we had lots of fun and ate well and laughed a bunch. Spent time in a breathtakingly stunning wilderness. I even enjoyed the death march through moose hell. I can still smell that moose wallow. JFC how rank was that? We were close, man, but couldn't seal the deal with the time we had. That's hunting. Getting to finally meet you and run around in the bush where the wild things are was a total gas, as well as was meeting a bunch of the good AK 'Fire crew. Definitely amongst the highlights of the trip. You, SD of course, DaninAK, 458Lott, 358 Norma, KK Alaska, some family members and a bunch of other great folks. Nothing but kindness, generosity and good will. I'm totally humbled by all you and the gang did for me. Mrs. KG was stunned and elated when I showed her what I hauled home, both the 35 pounds of dungeoness and king crab I bought but even more the ~75 pounds of killer protein you guys collected in the field and waters and gifted me. Moose and caribou steaks and sausage and other killer meaty things, piles of three flavors of salmon smoked and raw, halibut, cod, razor clams and probably a couple other things I'm forgetting. Oh yeah, can't forget the family mustard! Sheeit man, I hauled sixty pounds of bugs, bass, chowder and scallops to feed folks and ended up hauling back almost double what I brought. You boys humbled me. Alaska and many of her good residents I've come to call friends never disappoint. We'll definitely be in touch and soon enough we'll be doing something together again, either on this side of our beloved nation, or that side, or very likely both. Huge and humble thanks to you, SD and all of the gang. Adventure can be spelled a bunch of different ways but right up there at the top I spell it A-L-A-S-K-A!
