Lived there from '94 to '98. Never experienced a more racist bunch of $hit bags than the 'spanics and the injun's in Nuevo Mexico. Never been back. It will be a cold day in hell I ever go back to that $hit hole.

Yes. Had a client there once 20+ years ago. Sch!thole town. Cheap motels.

Cold as fug in the winter.

Need to go back down to see a friend that I haven't seen in years. He isn't in ALBQ but in the area.

I live here, but far enough away from ABQ to be safe and happy. Anyone in the area or passing through is welcome to PM me and I'll tell you what to avoid and what is worth seeing.

Ran over a gator and ripped an air line off outside Albuquerque.
Made it to the El Vacquero Cafe.
Got out and heard water running.
"OH schizz! The crossover!

Some plastic, lotta duck tape, me covered in sand cussing, soaked in fuel, the lack of sticks to jam in the hole, got it stopped.

Called the company while I ate breakfast.
Firemen showed up, bleary-eyed, saw the soaking in puddle,
"Jeeze, the called us for that? It's the desert, that's no big deal."

Then the chubby, Indian, State Patrolman showed up.
Trying to impress me with his ability to track me after I hit the gator,
and mad at me for spilling fuel on HIS highway.
He didn't impress me.

Couple hours to get patched up, a good breakfast, learned a good place to eat.

Just searched it up on Maps, closed now.

No reason to go back.

I lived there for a couple of years in the mid 70s while I was doing an MS in biology at UNM. I liked NM quite a bit, but Albuquerque was never my favorite part.

I'll be flying in to ABQ later this week on the way to an antelope hunt in eastern NM.

Some beautiful places in New Mexico.

Albuquerque don’t make the list. Even the really, really loooong list.

About 4000 times as it is part of my work territory for the last 20 years. It has a few nice things but I do not agree with the politics there at all and it is getting worse by the day.

Yup. Wasn't at all impressed. We visited with our 5th wheel rv on a 3 week trip through NM and AZ.

As far as towns go, we enjoyed Santa Fe and Taos more. Wasn't really impressed with Taos but the places we visited on day trips from there made it good.

Red River is much better....

Best part of Albuquerque, NM is which ever lane of IH40 takes you away!

Kinda like Houston, TX! Best part of Houston is the northbound lane of IH45!

In 2021, the wife and me had the opportunity to drive to Phoenix, AZ.
US 287 to Amarillo.
IH40 to Flagstaff, then south.

I was absolutely blown away at the traffic out there!
At night, the lanes of IH40 were literally rivers of headlights or taillights.
There was a wreck just outside Flagstaff in the westbound side. Traffic was backed up for probably THIRTY FIVE MILES! 🤯
The only difference was the eastbound lane was moving!!!
If we weren't driving 80 to 85, you'd get run over....by semi's as well as automobiles!

We stayed overnight at ALBQ both directions!
Was never so ready to leave a place in my entire life!
