Back in the day, I...uuhhh....knew someone that certainly picked a few pillowcases full of them. This person was always careful to not pull them out of the place they were growing, but rather to pinch the stem off above the "ground". Then watch the stem where it was pinched , and if it was the correct variety, the pinched/crushed place would turn blue or purplish. Or so I've heard.....

Guy parked at the gate to the BLM land next door this morning. We watched as he started walking SW, he was looking down intently as walking. Appears to be a guy from our slobby neighbors, who's pigs get out on occasion. At first I wondererd if he was trying to track a loose one. Then, as he would bemd over an touch near the ground every so often, i got to wondering if he was checking cow pies for shrooms.
