Finally! My local liquor store is stocking Shiner Bock now. My new favorite beer that is not affiliated with AB in any way.

Good stuff. Anybody here from Shiner, Texas?

Morewood;
Good evening to you sir, I hope that the rest of your day went as well as the new stocking program in the store.

When we visited family who used to winter down in Weslaco, TX, one of the things I ticked off my "to do in Texas" list was find a sample pack of Shiner.

For the life of me there were 3 that I really liked and the Bock was one, but the other two remain unavailable in the memory banks at present.

Anyways all that to say Prost!

Good luck on your hunts too of course.

Dwayne

Shiner Blonde is my go to. Bock is great but gives me a headache after a few for some reason.

I drink Shiner blonde when it’s hot, bock when it’s cold. They are my main beers and I drink a lot of them. Shiner isn’t too far away. Good beer.

My daughter's M-I-L lives in Shiner Tx.

However that does not stop me from enjoying their brewskis.

No Shiner Blond in stock yet. I'll have to talk to the owner. We're pards.

Dwayne, always a pleasure to talk with you. Taking my grandson deer hunting for his second season (successful) but this year he didn't draw a doe tag so I warned him that legal bucks are fair game and he's hunting with a bunch of older sharpshooters that pee in a coffee can at night and can aim.

Morewood;
Thanks for the kind reply sir.

I can only imagine the joy of taking a grandchild hunting has to be one of the better experiences one can have. Kudos all around for that.

Indeed as well, one of the aspects of aging I find quite disenchanting is the inability of my bladder to make it through some nights without waking the rest of me up.

One supposes it's better than not waking the rest of me up, there is that one supposes... wink

Good luck to you all on the hunt. It'll be grand regardless of what gets bagged, but here's hoping someone gets to make meat.

All the best.

Blonde is light beer if that’s what you are after.
Bock goes down like ice tea.
Bohemian black if you like a beer to think over.
Prickly pear for enjoying time on the patio.

Shiner Orale, Mexican style beer, is one of my new favorites. It’s really good. Light Blonde is a really good hot weather lawnmower beer. And Bock is good.

I like it, too expensive here.

Old German has went up, $20/30.
Pisses me off, not long ago it was $13/24.

Geedubya, I knew I could lure you out with a Shiner beer or Croc footwear thread.

I enjoy your pics my friend. You have a good eye and some killer knives.

First, full disclosure, folks ask "what kind of beer is your favorite?"

My reply is "Yours and Cold".

So with that in mind.

It is a decent day drinking beer, particularly when it's hot out and is consumed Ice Cold.

IIRC the ABV is 4.4%.

If offered i would not turn it down.

If I had to describe the Shiner house style it would be filling. I'm "burping full" after one Oktoberfest.

Those of you who don't know me, don't mistake me for a light beer drinker. It's just something about the way Shiner brews their beer.

I live close to Shiner, and my tractor dealer is located there, as is my gold company.

It's a clean little town with some very big conservative businesses based there... Ranchhand bumpers and guards, Boedeker Plastics, Shiner Beers (Spoetzl Brewery), Texas Precious Metals, and some nice agriculture related businesses.

Shiner Beer also has a BBQ joint now. You can go get BBQ and beer... Can't beat that! smile
