Anybody know what the USMC used fir a carrying case/drag bag for their sniper rifles during the Vietnam War? Interested to know if they are available still, working on a project rifle . Cat
scopes are cool, but slings 'n' irons RULE!

I’ll look in Senich’s book when I get home but I don’t recall him mentioning drag bags for the early USMC rifles. If you don’t already have it, get “the one round war” by Peter Senich.

I have no idea what the USMC snipers used, but the common weapons case of that era up into at least the late 1980's when I retired (US Army), was the M1950 Weapons Case. That is what we packed our M16A1's in on parachute jumps. I never heard of any other weapons case for small arms.

Looked in both of Senichs book on US Sniping and there’s no mention of a drag bag for either the Winchester or the Remington platform. In 1967 when the Remington platform started, they were shipped in conventional hard gun cases. See pic. Sorry I couldn’t be of more help.
