Smith & Wesson was established in 1852 in Connecticut before it soon moved its headquarters to Springfield, Massachusetts. Now, the firearm manufacturer calls Maryville, Tennessee, home after holding a ribbon-cutting ceremony Saturday at its new 650,000-square-foot headquarters. "From where I stand, the next 170 years of Smith & Wesson are looking pretty good," Smith & Wesson President and CEO Mark Smith said Saturday, according to The Daily Times. "It is something special here in Tennessee." Smith touted state gun laws and his close work with local leaders for the move to Tennessee, describing the relocation as "seamless." The ribbon-cutting event Saturday showcased renowned competitive shooter Jerry Miculek set an NRA record when he hit six steel plates with a 9 mm revolver in 1.88 seconds. Glad Smith moved. Wish Remington had got hat, a long time ago, before they went under. Not too long, the NE will be fresh out of the companies and the good people that make anything. They will just provide "service." And 9/10 times their service sucks because their service people have an attitude that matches their service and the attitude plays on a telephone like a movie screen. The boss never calls his own service department.

The entire Ct. River Valley of gun makers have slid down the Appalachian Trail. Lets hope the South will rise again!
America is (supposed to be) a Republic, NOT a democracy. Learn the difference, help end the lie. Fear a government that fears your guns.

Arms manufacturers congregated around the eastern seaboard. Reasons for that have been absent for many years. It’s far past time to abandon those locations for less hostile environments.

Just like Nissan. Rather than building their US plant in Detroit, and having to deal with the UAW and 60 percent nig work force, they built the plant in Smyrna Tn. with no UAW and largely white work force. I guess they didn't grow much cotton in that part of Tennessee in 1845.
