We had our year ending Group and Score event on 10-8-23. Last season, the 6PPC toters took exception to my 30BR coming out on top of both events and vowed revenge.

Temps were in the high 40's to start and ended up in the mid 50's. Winds were gusty and quickly switching from 7 o'clock to 5 o'clock with very little warning on the upcoming switches. My far flag would shake a just a bit before the instant switch, even though the angle would stay the same....a good indicator to when not to press the trigger. We started the day with the Group event. I left a bit of vertical in the tune up for the sake of dampening out the horizontal in case I got caught in the switch. Small group went to Gene Crisman with a .121 with Jim Minnig hot on his heels with a .125. I ended up winning it with a .214 agg. The vertical in the tune up meant no tiny little groups but no big ones...which is what will kill you in Group shooting.

For the Score portion, I tuned the vertical out and my 250-19X came out on top. Nick Trease and Jim Minnig pushed hard for 2nd and 3rd. Gene Crisman was right there with 19X's but got caught in the switch and put one out for a 249-19X.

All in all, a great day with some good competitors. Precision Reloading in Mitchell, S.D. stepped up with several very nice $50 gift certificates...one of which a nice young man shooting in the Factory Class won. I was shooting my 117's on the 1.00" J4s and made on a new die over 34.8 of H4198. Even at those temps, the velocity stayed pretty stout.
