I just picked up a nice one in matte finish with the laminate stock but it's a remilin. My older ones seem better built but I got the remlin cheep and it's in excellent shape. I'm mounting a ss 1-4 on it today and loading up some rounds to see if it shoots.
If it shoots ok I may take it deer hunting next week because I've never killed a deer with a 30-30 and that seems like something everyone should do.
If you watch gunbroker some good ones come up from time to time but usually run about $700. I'm watching for a 35 rem and a 375 win to shoot cast bullets in and if this new one doesn't shoot well I may have it rebored.

The late production Remlins were quite good. I have an SBL I bought in 2018 I believe and it is a fine rifle. Fit and finish is excellent and the accuracy is on par with my other levers. I sold my jm 336 ss a couple of years ago when people we going nuts for them. Now I regret it 🤷♂️
