I could take more pictures but they would still be of a gun made before the Titanic's keel was laid. Teddy Roosevelt was president. Made in 1908. The butt plate is chipped, the stock has been cut down. That's a Marble peep. This is from northern LP Michigan, which means it was poaching deer when your grandfather was young. Don't ask if the bore is bright, that probably was dark before women got the right to vote, considering the ammo of the day. Seems to function properly, meaning it will pinch your fingers pretty good in several ways if you aren't careful.

I got a value of $400 from a gun shop but I know there's more knowledge here. I inherited it but idk who it belonged to other than it was in my grandmother's gun cabinet and I got it so I don't have a sentimental attachment to it, your comments will not hurt my feelings. Thanks

So no extra holes ? All original ? How is the barrel and finish? The ones I see offered for sale are $1000 plus or minus.

I have the longer barrel model, finish as you would expect for its age. Good barrel, I shoot it with cast and jacket ammo.

Mine has extra holes as someone wanted a scope on it.

I paid 750 for a carbine about 6 months ago, metal 60%, no holes but stock is amateurishly carved with a horse. Pristine bore. Sorry, no savvy photo upload.

Well this is a fine pickle we're in, should'a listened to Joe McCarthy and George Orwell I guess.

Years back at my lgs I was offered $900. cash or $1,000. trade for my 1907 octagon barreled 92 .25-20. A fun gun to shoot, but I haven't found anything to shoot with it.

My other auto is a .45

Not as far as I know.

The Marble peep would be some extra holes but it's pretty cool looking

I know its north of $400 because I'd give more than that for it. I wouldn't give $1000 for it but I might give 8 or 850. It's an adorable gun in a great caliber; its got panache in spades. Hell the Jordan Buck was taken with a .25-20. I'm grinch green with envy. Congrats.

I think there is something going on there. Mag tube was shortened or barrel was shortened. The bluing on the receiver and barrel don't seem to match at all. In my humble opinion, it is a "shooter" possibly pieced together. I would guess it would bring $650-700 around here.

The sights are not original. They say Marble on them. I might have the sights, I got a box of sights in my inheritance haul.
