Pops may have gotten this from Brownells years ago?
Think it was NOT set up for Bomar, he sent that off for machining.
Have no idea who made this slide (top).

The bottom one is a Rem Rand probably welded up for adding a Bomar rib.

To me, it looks like a Baer, but I have been mistaken before, once or twice. It could be anyone's, frankly, since everyone and their brother (and his cousin) are making 1911 parts these days, but to me, the serrations look like Baer to me. Brownell's sold a lot of Baer frames and slides at one time, though.

I should proly email Brownells and see if they can ID it.
Im not gonna build a .45 acp so have no use for either.
Rather have a 10mm

This slide is proly 10 yrs old, or older.

The upper slide looks ready to go, that is to be fitted to a frame. It has sights, and at the time the sights may have cost more than the slide.

The lower slide looks like it is one of these, welded up big old Bomar cuts.

I welded this one up and put Novak's on it. It is an old bullseye Fanken gun, Colt slide , RR frame, old tall Bomar with a huge base cut. Gun that someone stuck a bunch of drop in, junk on.

But you can not fit a modern sight to that big Bomar dovetail cut and if you look at the weld over flow on the lower slide you see the size of the base cut. A GI base cut is small and can be just recut.

I thought the bottom slide (in my pic) was an old Rem Rand that somebody welded up for a Bomar rib install.
Dunno where pops got that slide from. LOL, I dunno where he got either of em smile
Am not gonna mess w em.
Although a cool old school Bomar ribbed .45 would be neat (I shot one pops built 400 yrs ago and it was wicked good).
Im out of the .45 acp game, only 1911 I want is a 10mm.

Hell I proly won't ever get one. Aint got a spot good enough to play around handgunning deer w a 1911.
