Hello,

Does anybody know whether, on a true Parker Hale 1858 two band Enfield, the rear sight housing is screwed onto the top of the barrel or whether it is sweated on?

The reason I am asking, is that I am looking at one for sale (online), and the rear site and housing have been removed, yet the top of the barrel is uniformly dark blue. If the rear housing was sweated on at the factory, then this tells me that after the removal, the gun must have been re-blued. This would contradict the "Excellent Condition" rating that the seller is claiming.

Thanks for any information.
