I don't follow NZ politics because why the fawk would I? But, honest question time. What does conservative mean in New Zealand? Liberal Light?

We're all in this together. Conservative in NZ means good, old school values, where hard work is rewarded. The same as it does in any western democracy or used to. Means pulling the plug on the left pro racist idiots and all their anti democratic agendas.

I'll put New Zealand back on the very short list of places I wouldn't mind living for a while.nice to see them pull up before they crashed bad. They must run their elections differently than we do ours; otherwise how could a conservative win.

What is it that he is realistically expected to accomplish? Ardern was rubbish by my assessment, and frankly both NZ and AUS bros have a lot of liberty to reclaim... but that's their fitna to be had.

It's expensive but worth it particularly if you like the outdoors. Deer hunting all year round. Some of the best trout fishing in the world. Crystal clear lakes and streams and all the freedom you could want.

The sad thing is, less than half of the voters voted conservative. This means the more than half the people are still living in their own dream world of rainbows and lolipops. If the conservative government provides real leadership and is fiscally conservative and socially responsible, they might increase their support. If, as so often happens, they go off the rails, the leftists will be back.
Fiscal conservatism is especially difficult for governments to adhere to. Even Donald Trump was a deficit spender. GD

News flash. Every country in the west swings back and forth Liberal - Conservative has for decades will the same. Comes to its senses? Not really the pendulum just swung back for now.

Not really, this country seems to swing between Democrat and Democrat Lite. We very rarely get anyone I would consider a Conservative. The Left just rapes the language and labels anyone who isn't a hard core Socialist or Communist as a "Conservative". That's why you look back after 20-30 years and can't recognize the country. We're either losing ground or kind of holding the line. We rarely make any headway in the right direction. We're just goosestepping and racketing towards Hell with an occasional pause.
