There is plenty of ammo in 7x57 available.
I have not bought a single round of loaded centerfire ammo since 1982, and only then because I had bought a new rifle while working out of town for a month.

I am presently needing 100 cases to load for a 6mm. All the typical suppliers, Grafs, Natchez, Midway, Starline, Midsouth, had nothing available in 6mm, 257, 6.5x57, or 7x57 as of last week. Except for niche suppliers like Nosler which they want near $2 each for.

Midway says 7x57 is "coming soon". I asked to be notified.

If one has a source for brass which can be necked to 6mm, at a typical price, I would love to hear it.

I know where 200 pcs of 6mm rem brass is. Its expensive though. Just like it is everywhere. It's not easy to find either.

Also saw this the other day:

Bout the same. Sum of parts. $900 isn’t/wasn’t bad for that stock and action.

There are some glitches (plugs) in the stock, that I don't like. Still, it's probably worth $300+ by itself. It's definitely not all original, so that dings it a bit. .

It did sell. Had 21 bids on it. Bidder didn't pay. We'll see what it goes for this time.

What do you consider a "typical" price? I may know of a source for 7x57 brass...

Thank you. I wondered if the XTR existed pre 64.

Looks like they set the barrel back a thread or 2 as well. Hopefully the new reamer was a good match.

70 XTRs are push feeds, so whoever installed the barrel would have had to cone the barrel tenon too.

I love mine. Almost as much as I love the pre 64's. They were built right and look great. They tend to shoot real well too. All plusses in my book.

Less than $1/piece. Got the PPU 6.5x57 from Graf's.

I think I had to anneal the last batch after sizing, but that is okay.

150 pcs 6.5x57 arrived today from Grafs. Pretty good turn around.
