I have a Bering Hogster 25 on my suppressed ruger ‘scanner’. I use it for all smaller stuff when coyote hunting, and as a scanner….on the rifle or off. It’s low magnification and high FOV, with good resolution for what it is at around the $2k mark. Maybe under. If you can get 12um pixel pitch vs 17, you’ll get more performance in bad conditions than a 17, along with doing the job of a larger lens.
It’s good enough that tonight I could clearly identify a house key hanging in a swing chain at 35-40 yards, that I forgot I left out for a worker a while back…..until I just saw it looking for rats….could even see the cuts in the key and holes in the head.
Magnification is plenty for me for rats to armadillos inside 100.
