Hello! Is it possible, to simply buy a 9 mm cylinder for the Manurhin MR 73, and "drop it" in, or does a Gunsmith have to fit this to the individual gun?

Or do I have to order the spare cylinder with the gun, which is not possible, as I already have the gun, and got offered a 9 mm cylinder.

The answer is "it depends".

The cylinder may simply "drop in". Or it may need to be fitted. There is no way to tell until you have the specific gun and cylinder in hand and try it. MR 73s have tight tolerances, so I would expect that there will be some fitting involved, but for any person familiar with DA revolvers, it should not be a difficult job.

I´ll try ... and will check cylinder in my gun.

I have heard, there are 2 kinds of cylinder stars. One elder type, and one newer. This I have cleared: I have the elder one ( seems from Manurhin - arsenal made ) and the cylinder in question, too. Looks like 6 pentagons.

The new kind of "star" on the cylinder back seems to be with the Chapuis made guns. Seems more like a star.

Bought the 9 mm cylinder.

Dropped right in.

Test fire: all well, even shoot to same POA.

OK; light, quicker bullets a little higher than others. ( 95 and 100 grs max 1 1/2" / 20 m higher than 124 grs )

I am extremely happy with my purchase.
