What's the good and bad on the new Pythons?

The one I own is an amazing piece of hardware. Good trigger and the action is smooth. Shoots good too. If I was in the market for a new revolver, it would be one of these or a prestine S&W pinned. IMO, great guns.

I have heard good things.
DA trigger good, will stand up to continuous use of .357 mag ammo, which the original ones won´t.
And the barrel lenghts!
3, 4 1/4, 5, 6 and 8".
I want a 3" and a 5", please!

I handled a 5" in a local gun shop. They wanted over $1500 for it so I bought one off GB.

I handled a 4 1/4" in a local store last week, 1,395 for the SS version.
I really didn't see anything wrong at all other than I don't care for the grips, & it' not an old one which I never liked the grips on either.
Very nice gun & the price is not cheap but not crazy high either.

Love this 4 1/4" I picked up. Sent it off to Mike Heffron for action, trigger and accuracy work. A Grail gun and I'm very happy with Mike's work.

MM MM, I'm not a huge fan of the grips, either. And actually, $1395 is not a bad price.

I bought the 4-1/4" version and like it. Common complaints I've heard are the single action trigger pull is too heavy and the sights suck compared to the original Pythons. I fully agree on the trigger and Heffron Precision is the solution. Wilson Combat has sight upgrades.
I'll likely have the trigger and sights upgraded at some point.

I have had my 6" Python for about 8 months now, first half hour at the range I decided to not shoot it again until I got the trigger fixed........... Now that the trigger is done I shoot it regularly and very much like it

I have been eyeing that Empire Cottonmouth series of Pythons. They are an abomination to Samuel Colt, and I want one. Especially that Black Mamba.

For those that don't like the laminated grips, Deer Hollow LLC makes some nice reproduction ones.

It's a custom shop's answer to the S&W TRR8. I'm lookin but I'm not seeing the kitchen sink.

With all the new pythons around, why do people collect the original ones at $3k+ each?
