For those that stay out of the freak-show, posting here as well. Hunted Wyoming General Area outside of Jackson first week of rifle season (started 9/26). Took this bull on the morning of day 4 (9/29). He bugled in response to some cow calling like he was the size of GoDogs57 bull. It was awesome!!! From when we called to when I shot was 5 minutes (we'd spotted this bull the day before so knew where he was at). First shot broadside at 80 yards. First shot would have killed him, but as he was trotting off I put two more into him for safe measure. Bastard then rolled downhill about 100 yards. Which in hindsight was a blessing as we could get the pack animals right to him. No bullets exited or recovered (didn't feel like rooting around in the carnage). Really enjoyable hunt, but this flatlander sure as heck ain't used to all the steepness. Pictures taken at 8,700'. I bet this area in the summer is extremely gorgeous due to the amount of wildflowers.
