...at www.riflesandrecipes.com, until Halloween. This time it's my books Obsessions of a Rifle Loony and Rifle Trouble-shooting and Handloading. Both are $20, which as always on R&R includes media-mail shipping in the U.S. Obsessions consists of essays about the stuff we like to "discuss" about hunting rifles, from cartridges to stock fit to custom rifles. Some say it's among the most entertaining read of my rifle books. RTS & HL is more nuts and bolts, including "light gunsmithing" we can do ourselves, without having to pay a gunsmith. Some say it's even saved them money.... Hope everybody's having a good hunting season!

Obsessions is a very good read. I like the short essay style. Believe I’ll dig it out of the bookcase and read it again….for fun.

Eileen thanks you for the comment on Sausage Season! Have been getting some orders for her cookbooks mixed with the sale orders for Obsessions and Trouble-Shooting.

Hope your bow season is going well. Sausages disappear around here too. in fact, when John and I butchered up those two antelope I got recently, we cut rump roasts, but pretty much ground everything else up for more sausage. Best part of that is you don't have to case it to enjoy it. And not casing it saves time. Once you've mixed it (and broken down the proteins) you have great sausage texture and I love a Sunday brunch with spicy Tex-Mex sausage patties. Eileen (aka Mrs Mule Deer)

Yes Mam. I got a 78 pound whitetail doe on the 5th. Got 36 pounds of lean version stuffed 15 pounds into 30 pounds of sausages last week. At this point the energy conservation of patties seems like a no brainer.
