I used to have a BFR Casull which I sold to a friend in a moment of weakness, and I've wanted it back for a while now. I've been looking on Gunbroker and I see some offered with a micarta bisley grip. I really liked the black rubber grip on my old one, I think it might be the only revolver I've owned that I didn't replace the factory grip on. But I've never handled one with the bisleys.

You guys that have bisley grips - do you like them?

I have a BFR in 480 Ruger/475 Linebaugh, with BFR's interpretation of the Bisley grip. This handle IMO handles recoil better than any grip on my other big-bore handguns. I really like it, and wouldn't buy another BFR without it.

Thanks. Your statement about their interpretation of a bisley grip brings up another question. I’ve looked at their photos of their bisley and standard grips. It appears that they’re on the same grip frame. The top of both grips look to be level with the bottom of the cylinder. Wouldn’t a true bisley grip fit higher on the revolver’s frame?

My 2 cents: I own a .50AE BFR revolver and I cannot imagine shooting it without the rubber grips it came with. I have to wear a finger cot (condom) to prevent battering of my trigger finger when shooting.
