Teflon tape and loctite seem to be the two things I can never find when I need it, requiring a trip to the hardware store. It took me a few minutes to find the blue loctite[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]

Glad that you were up for the challenge.

Buy the larger containers

It only took some things coming loose at
hunting time for me to learn my lesson.
If I have to struggle with a screw at home
with a selection of tools, well that's ok.
It's like being broke down on the side of
the road because I should have fixed something
at home in comfort with all my tools
right there.
I use loctite on everything

Before I retired, I was careful about what I put that stuff on. We bought it by the pint and used gallons a year on the product we produced. Not much fun if some tech put it on a shcs that periodically broke from many cyclic loads. The nice thing about good fasteners is when they break, they snap, easy to spin out with a scribe or left hand drill. Some one puts loctite on it, the effort ramps up. Blue isn't too bad but red, which we used by the gallon, was a pain. 500-550°F is the cure for red.

I have even seen it with OPPOSITE colors for BOTH tubes! Grrr.... I don't know if their tube supplier can't provide the proper colors or if Loctite just don't give a damn.

Maybe they hired the guy we used to have work for us. We hired him as an electrician helper never told us he was color blind. Found out the hard way when I got hung up on 480. He wires the ground to the 480 tap of a transformer

I was just gonna say this! I use it on an assembly I make for a customer (the red stuff, it’s not an assembly that’s intended to ever come apart) and for a while there the blue came in red tubes and the red came in blue tubes! WTF?!

Your man moved south into the Northern Tier of PA. Worked at the Paper mill in NE PA for 4 years. When PC's were starting to be used for process control, we set up a "Computer Lab" to teach the operators how to use the machines. New PC's arrived. ($5K each?) Fortunately, the Lab Manager was a seasoned IT tech guy and started by plugging in surge protectors. Plugged in the first surge protector. It instantly smoked. Hmm... Plugged in the second surge protector. It immediately smoked. STOP... Sure enough the process electricians had wired everything in the Lab to be 440/460/480... <SMH>

Just used green 638 on the valve stem for the valve in the air pistol that I made. It has a 4500lb sheer strength. It'll never come free.

As stated read the packaging....The color of the material is what matters not the container - green, purple, blue, red , flange gasket etc... All of them can be taken apart some require more persuasion however....

Excellent product line

The point isn't the quality of the product. The point is the confusing packaging. The product is famously red or blue. Why switch up the packaging colors? If someone needs Red Loctite and goes into the hardware store and forgot his glasses, he is very likely to pick the wrong one, due to the confusing packaging.

Eh, if you have to explain it, the impact is lost. Nevermind.
