Nevermind. Went with the rifle version instead.

Was “out” of the inline business, but while organizing my supplies I discovered I had a whole lot of stuff for shooting them and a $300 rifle seemed like a good way to do that, and a break-action the easiest to maintain.

How do you like the rifle so far? I was just looking online at the Optima V2 with black nitride and came here to find more info.

Just received it a couple of days ago. For a $300 rifle, I’m impressed. The frame is some sort of alloy, but well made. The trigger is very good. I bought an EGW rail to replace the factory mount so I could put different types of optics on it, and the scope I’m using was already in Warne Mountain Tech rings.

They require a special breechplug for BH209, so I ordered one with the rifle. It has to be fitted a bit by torquing it into the barrel with the included tool, then loosened. After that, it can be removed by hand like the original.

The ramrod is just barely long enough for loading with charges of 100gr or more. For lesser ones, an extension is required, and they don’t include one of those any more, though it’s mentioned in the manual. I bought a 3” extension from Amazon.

The stock is a little clubby, but ambidextrous and puts me right behind the scope.

I bought this because I had a whole slew of .50 bullets and sabots, and didn’t want to blow a bundle on another expensive gun. I’m well satisfied so far, and don’t expect any problems with it. Might get it out next week to shoot it, between trips to the woods.
