If you can legally drive it you should be able to insure it.

Don't take "No." from just one agency. There are a plethora of company's. Just keep asking, somebody will oblige you.
Just be careful you don't end up with some sham outfit should you have a claim.

Sounds like a scheme to defraud an insurance company... besides Why would you want to. You want to insure your friend's car (putting all the liability on yourself) because your friend had an accident and can't legally drive his car. No, the car could be insured by anyone living in the household and driving the car. But otherwise, No...

What do you think you're doing with a leased car? You don't own it, but you can insure it (probably have to, per the lease contract).

Who's going to be driving it? Most companies want the primary driver listed on the policy.

Sounds questionable.
Why should you be able to collect insurance payout on an asset that you don't own?

My mother's caretaker lady had an at fault accident in my mother's car. My mother's insurance covered it. If I drive someone else's vehicle or a rental my own USAA policy covers me at the limits and exclusions on my policy.

I missed the part where it was stated that the friend can't legally drive the car, could you point that out for me, thank you.

I have my daughter's car on my policy, titled in her name only. She's listed as a driver on my policy, and our legal addresses are the same. Perfectly legit, with my company, in our state. Can't say this applies to anyone else, somewhere else, with possibly different motives for needing auto insurance

Typically 'No', but there are ways to get insurance.

The easiest way is for you to give him the money to insure the car and add you as a driver.

How does him being blind prevent you from being added as an insured driver on his car?
