When I was young, we made fun of the communist world because they had no idea what was actually going on in the world, since they only got their news through a strictly state controlled news media, and we (by contrast) enjoyed a free press. When I was young, we made fun of the communist world because they had no idea what was actually going on in the world, since they only got their news through a strictly state controlled news media, and we (by contrast) enjoyed a free press. My, how things have changed since then. Nailed it. I remember my parents explaining exactly that to me as a young kid. That the USSR controlled the news and brainwashed its citizens. It’s absolutely amazing to see how accurate that was and how it’s the same here now.

An unbiased and free press has been an illusion for decades, at least back to the JFK assasination.
