Christian first. Denomination is secondary. Same here. Of the churches I have been to I find a lot of good hearted sinners. Same could be said for the bars I have been to. Raised rather strict Lutheran & do not Identify as a Lutheran today. I do accept Jesus as my Savior. Lot of judgmental folks in the churches I have attended, How they put up with me at all was difficult to understand. Christ is for the Sinners. For this much we all qualify. Christ is for the believers we can all work on that one IMHO.

The local Methodists voted to leave at the time of the great schism. They were looking for a new name for the church. I thought that Untied Methodist would be clever and to the point. Those that split off from the UMC are now known as the GMC ( Global Methodist Church) which is back to scripture based, traditional practices. They now number more than 4.4 million in the United States. It is a sad day when the African Methodists have to yank the chain of the UMC in the USA and tell them to hold up on endorsing depraved lifestyles. Robert Mugabe famously (and correctly) chastised President Obama for endorsing the gay life. Imagine that, the president for life of the backward dictatorship in Zimbabwe rightfully calling down a U.S. president. He said Obama was going against Jesus Christ.

I went to church for the first time since my wife died. She truly believed in the after life and if anybody should waltz through the Pearly Gates she should.
I cried during the service not truly knowing or believing in heaven.
