You are worried.
Far less than if all I had was my pecker in my hand when the dogs go off at night.

I hope none of the tools I carry ever has to become a "weapon". Sincerely.

Generally out in public yes, unless going to the court house or other restricted areas. I'll also carry one of my lighter rigs on my properties while I'm out & about, unless I have a varmint rifle with me then I don't bother....keep catching trespassers on my trail cams though.

My front yard is grizzly country and there have been 3 bears killed within 2 miles in the past 5 years.

Typically have a G20 most days.

If I will be in towns sometimes switch to a M&P 9mm.

Always an AR or 3 in the truck.

Is that code for saying you live in an old refrigerator box @ the landfill?

If you are not actively engaging EVERY enemy you encounter... you are allowing another to fight for you... and that is cowardice... plain and simple.

I got my concealed carry permit at age 19 in 1980. Weird thing was that I was too young to legally purchase a handgun (per the Gun Control Act of 1968), but was perfectly legal to possess and carry one, according to the laws of my state. A cop I knew fixed the problem by purchasing the handgun I wanted (A Ruger Speed Six), after I got my permit, and gifting it to me, which was legal, even though I couldn't purchase one, according to the Gun Control Act of 1968.

It was a common workaround at the time. Not sure if that loophole has since been eliminated.

It wasn't considered a straw purchase, because a straw purchase (for the purpose of the Gun Control Act of 1968) was only one made for the purpose of circumventing a disqualification for possessing a firearm, such as a felony conviction. I was 100% qualified to possess a firearm. Even had a permit, issued by the police, to carry a handgun.
