I always preferred to deal with a master guns vs a Sgt maj. If you got master guns on your side, a Sgt maj doesn't really matter.
Had a master guns I would talk to when I was with 2nd tanks at Lejeune. No one would mess with him including the higher chain of command. Highly decorated Marine.
He took care of us.

That is no small achievement.
MontanaMarine was a Master Gunnery Sergeant in artillery.
He can correct me if I'm wrong but I believe there were only two during his time.

Congratulations to Nephew! That is quite an accomplishment, even more so as a Marine (I say that as they are the smallest service and have the fewest authorizations). As an FYI, There is a federal law (either that or a DoD regulation) that mandates that no more than 3% of the enlisted force can be in the grades of E-8 and E-9.

Been texting him this morning. Bit of clarification. He says there is one of his rank MOS in each of the major commands (15) and 3 at cyber command. He just moved out of cyber command so he will be the only one at his command.
