Has anyone used or tried the aforementioned bullets on deer sized game? Thanks.

I would say any 25 cal bullet on the heavier side would be fine. The 117gr SST Hornady works well

I was thinking the same. This box is new, old stock just sitting on a shelf, so I might as well put it to use.

If Power Point it must be a new offering or a very old load.

Winchester usually had the PEP in 25-06. It was/is a hollow point.

It was offered as a 90 and 120 grain load.

They worked, maybe a bit tough at least for my liking, at least for deer.

I’ve used the Sierra Gam King 117 in both a 25/06 and 257 Wby with no complaints

Dad’s shot deer with 117gr interlocks (Hornady) with no issue. Sorry, no experience with the Winchester.

Might be a concern if you were looking at elk, but short of a shot right on the shoulder (head or shaft of humerus), I don’t think you’ll have any serious problem.

You'll be fine they're just a standard cup and core soft point and they'll kill whatever you shoot with them. I used power points years ago in the 30.06 and 308 and they work just fine. I don't think Winchester makes them anymore but i may be wrong but I haven't seen any in years. As for the 25.06 any well constructed bullet 100grs and up will kill deer with authority so rest assured the power points will get the job done.

I once used the 117 gr Sierra BT exclusively but my deer hunting location became one of shots less than 100 yds. For that you need a tougher bullet . The bullet won't stay together, very explosive, and no pass through. Oh they die for sure makes a mess.

I don't 25-06 any more but when I did it was a steady diet of 100 Gr Core-Lokt, Interlock and Power point. Handloads were always Interlocks. It was generally timber hunting with most shots being within 50 yards and often much closer. The deer died very quickly less any drama.

I just purchased some 30-06 and 6.5 CM ammo with Power Points that should cover me for the next 10 years or so.

Your 117's will do just fine on deer in the woods.

I like to eat my deer and antelope all the 100 gr 25's I've used have been to explosive. I use heavier bullet in the 117 to 120gr weights. IF you like eating venison stay off the shoulders with the 25-06 period..mb

I don't recall shooting any Winchester 25-06 factory ammo, but the 117 grain Hornady American Whitetail factory load is reasonably priced and shoots good groups in my Marlin XL7 and Remington 700 parts gun.

I like the Winchester Deer Season XP factory loads in 243, 6.5 CM, and 308, so they would be high on my list of 25-06 factory ammo if I wasn't happy with the 117 grain Hornady American Whitetail factory ammo that my 2 rifles are already zeroed for.
