Several years ago, my wife hefted a Ithaca Model 37 16 gauge and loved it. I offered to buy the shotgun, but she declined thinking we could pick up one later. Recently, she has decided she wants to do some shooting and has put this particular firearm at the top of her Christmas list. As I hear it, a new company may be making Ithacas in Ohio, but the web site is under construction. That's not a great sign. Any suggestions on where a guy might find an older Ithaca chambered for the Sweet Sixteen in decent shape?

Thanks, Hobie. Any thoughts on what a fair price might be? Just curious... and I will add the Guns America site to my favorites.

A little late on my reply here--
I saw a used 16 in a gunshop in Joplin, Missouri last summer, not a scratch on the 50+ year old gun and they wanted $300 for it. I went in the next day to buy it and it was already gone. Still kicking myself for thinking too much. I've got a full choked 20 guage that is a little sweetie, would love to have a 3some of corn-cobbed forend guns in 12, 16, and 20.

That's the exact shotgun I received from my dad on my 10th birthday - a 16 Gauge Ithaca Model 37.
My dad is long gone, but I still have that shotgun in my safe. I shot it this year for the first time in 20 years. Good luck with your quest. It's a good one.

The Model 37 will be out around the first of the year. And they will have interchangeable chokes (Will come with three).

I did a total cleaning to my fathers model 87 deer gun last night. I am always impressed with the way they built/designed those Model 37/87 guns. Pull the stock off and out slides the trigger group. Slide that little pin back and the slide pulls off. GREAT GUNS!

My all time favorite shotgun is the Ithaca 37 in 16ga. I got my first bird in flight with one. A green wing teal with my Grandpa's well worn 16ga. A cousin has that one now, but I've replaced it with this one from 1962. Got it off a garage sale. Look around they turn up at gun shows, and places that sell used guns quite often. Got a limit of real wild late January Nebraska roosters a couple of years ago with it.
