Was at Cabelas Dundee MI this morning and they have a nice Remington 870 slug gun setup for $299. Rifled bbl, walnut stock, Weaver 3x scope. I don't need it but seems like a great deal

It looks like a Special Purpose too. I would have grabbed it.

Wow. Ours never has anything I would even buy for any price since BP bought them. In fact, the “Gun Library” is virtually empty most times. Maybe 25 overpriced junk guns in the whole room.

Probably not much demand as everyone transitions to straight wall.

Heck of a deal though; magnum sp for under $300.

The stock appeared to be walnut with cut checkering, not the birch/pressed of the economy (sp?) models. I already have a 12ga slug gun that doesn't get used anymore or I'd have bought it. I'm trying to break the habit of buying "good deals" I don't need and post them up here so others can spend their money. They also have a 20ga 870 sp (birch stock) for the same price.

I bought it because it's a smooth bore 20 inch with choke tube and an older 870 Special Purpose . Going to be my new turkey gun with a Vortex red dot.
