Ya shoulda bought a few LOTTO tix on the way home - you'd have been a very rich man after the drawing...

Gun shows around here have been a total waste of time/money for the last 20+ years or so...

I love going to the local flea markets around here. Sometimes I hit it up several weeks in a row, sometimes it might go longer than a month. Like I stated earlier I got some good deals on some good rifles at times but also just random reloading stuff.

In the big picture over time I might of made more money just walking around selling stuff to some of the guys I got to know over time than what I made buying good guns at a good deal. Bullets I didn't need, scopes, etc.

Costs nothing and not always, but usually time well spent.

My brother is an avid collector, knows his guns. He prowls the shows in Ohio and Pa, he is always telling me of the deals he finds. He has a collection of Remington BDLs that will make anyone envious. Iam a lefty and occasionally he will pick up a left hand gun and pass the savings on to me. Several years ago he picked up a mint BDL in 308 for 9 hundred and a Remington 1100 with a vent rib shot barrel and a slug barrel for 600. Both in my safe now. Seems like whenever I go with him everything is over priced.

90-95% of the guns and gun stuff was bought at gunshows at greatly reduced prices over a 25 year period. you must learn who to deal with at a gunshow.

I generally go in the winter to get out of the house and do some walking. I'm still waiting to find a real deal. I need to shoot more of the guns I have rather than buy more. I'm not getting any younger.

Wow, you NEED to be kicked, that's for sure. eek shocked

Made the mistake of asking myself what I would use it for............I'd shoot it a time or two and it would sit in the safe. I'd sell it in a year or two and any profit would be ate up in shipping and FFL transfers......

I rejoined the NRA at the last gun show and that gets me in free. Plus a guy will sharpen you knife if you renew your NRA membership. I didn't buy anything else. Everything was way overpriced. Too much AR stuff. I usually run into a friend or 2 I haven't seen for a while. That makes it worth the trip.
