Looks like an old Navy blimp hangar.
There were two identical hangars in Tillamook, Oregon.
They were using one to store hay in and it burned down several years ago.
One is still left.

It was more than several years ago…

I worked at a blimp manufacturer for years; we kept our prototype at one of those hangers, and put together the first type-certified blimp there too. They are incomprehensibly huge inside.

The blimp company was US/LTA, the airship was the 138S, I wrote all the manuals for it, and if you google it, any pic you see of it flying with the nightsign going, I’m in it at that time. Got several hours of stick time in it too. Crazy times. That blimp ended up hanging off an apartment building in NYC on the 4th of July…

So we get to see in the next year or so who wanted the land for their project.

They will not announce who gets the property.
It will just happen

During the war, my dad was a radioman on one of those blimps flying out of Tillamook. He was there when the war ended.
The remaining hangar is a neat Naval Air museum. The fire was in 1992, 31 years ago.

That is exactly what is happening. They have wanted to bring these structures down ever since MCAS El Toro closed, and yet they could never create a decent enough reason for the community to agree to it, so it's EXTREMELY similar to Lahaina.

My father, the man who was top turret gunner/flight engineer on his B-17, and I toured that museum at Tillamook several years ago. It's big enough that clouds actually form inside it when the temperature and humidity are just right.
