We were up there before legal shooting light. They had already moved down to the rich guys ranch where nobody but him gets to hunt. We saw 40 or 50 on the ranch by the time it was legal to shoot them. They had been bedded down on the public land. There were wolf tracks (non-native gray wolves) mixed in with the elk tracks. The wolves may have chased them off. Lots of running elk tracks.

lots of them here. Game and Fish feed them to keep them off the ranchers hay stacks. Here's a pic of where one had bedded down.
