In the interest of consolidating a few of my ads, figure I would try to put cartridges like the .38 Special, and .38 Short Colt all in one ad.


This ad contains info on the following:

.38 Special +P 158 grain Hard Cast Polymer Coated Semi Wadcutter ammo.

.38 Special Standard Pressure 148 grain Wadcutter ammo.

.38 Short Colt 125 grain Polymer Coated Flat Nose ammo. Yes, this ammo is designed to be shot in a .38 Special/.357 Magnum revolver. See info below.

All ammo is loaded in new Starline brass.







.38 Special +P 158 grain Hard Cast Polymer Coated Semi Wadcutter

This is a heavy duty, defense/hunting oriented load for the .38 Special.


















In testing velocity numbers are as follows:

Ruger Security 6" 1200 FPS
S&W Model 15 4" 1115 FPS
S&W Model 442 1&7/8ths" 1020 FPS

While chronographing this load, I had the chance to compare this 158 grain poly SWC load to some American Eagle 158 grain .357 Magnum jacketed soft point.

The American Jacketed Soft Point .357 Magnum was 10-12 FPS slower on average than this Poly Coated SWC .+P 38 Special ammo.

25 yard accuracy was excellent as well:








In testing the loads through a couple J Frame 442s (aluminum frame, steel cylinder, 5 shot guns), I found the recoil to be extremely harsh and too much for both the gun and shooter.

I absolutely DO NOT recommend that these loads be fired in a J Frame sized 5 shot revolver aluminum frame chambered in .38 Special.

If the gun is chambered for a .357 Magnum then you will be fine.

Velocity from 4" K Frame 828 FPS.


This was produced in new Starline brass and features a 148 grain full wadcutter.






Great J Frame carry load. In fact it is what I carry in my old school 442.

















.38 Short Colt 125 grain Poly-Coat flat point.
for .38 Special and .357 Shooters!






For you .38 Special and .357 shooters, who want a fun little low recoil round, I have some very cool little .38 Short Colts.











These actually have less recoil than a standard .38 Wadcutter load.


Specs are as follows:

125 grain Poly-Coat flat point.
Velocity average 850 FPS using a 4" Model 15 Combat Masterpiece.

Nice light recoil.


Yes, you can shoot Short Colts in .38 Specials..

No, it won't leave giant lead deposits in your barrel any more than shooting a .38 special in a .357 does.

In fact I have shot a bunch in various guns, and have found virtually nothing to be out of the ordinary in terms of guns and cleaning.


The .38 Short Colt is simply a .38 Special shortened to 9mm length.





They are extremely fun for shooting in J Frames, and actually make shooting J Frames fun again. You will find that gals who hated their little J Frames before due to recoil, will actually like it with the little Short Colts.
