Need some experienced help with my 99.
I had to do a full disassembly due to surface rust and being very dry.
The trigger spring has me stymied.
Can someone explain or better yet, draw a picture of what the trigger and spring look like, and how they set in relation to the search parts? The spring appears to just flop without tension.
I'm finally nearing getting a shop building up and being able to unpack all my tools and resources, but today is hunting season...

The pin that goes through the trigger also goes through the eye in spring. Getting it lined up is a bear! I use an ice pick to get it all in line and push it back out with the trigger pin.

The spring has to be oriented so it puts pressure on the trigger.

If it goes in without tension, you have it upside down. It looks difficult to put it under tension while hanging onto the trigger and pin, but once you get the hang of it, it is pretty easy. I use a dummy pin, undersize, inserted from the left side and insert the real one from the right. I am a long way from home, else I would get a picture.

Post your email here for me. There was a post on this and I printed it off to a pdf that I can email you. Long side of spring forward, short back. Here's a pic.

Yes, Kieth's picture shows it about as good as you ever will, The spring loop is up, legs are below, and the long leg goes forward.., as I recall. I use Lightfoots "ice-pick" starter too, but I use a 12-penny finish nail in from the right side, so I can watch the straight pin go in from the left side (and push the spring down to help the alignment..). it's tedious.., and this is one of those tasks that they suggest assembly inside a clear plastic garbage bag.., (..and you know why I know that.?...)

The one diagram I found had it all different. Thank you all.
