This kind of can of ham that is. Wanted some meat with my eggs this morning. No bacon, chorizo, or such in the fridge. Looked in pantry at the Zombie Pockalips supplies. Couple of small canned hams. Took the oldest one for today, will replace it next shopping trip. Expired June 2022 or such. Got it out on the counter and was surprised to see the key. Joked with my relatives this morning, I almost forgot how they worked. Probably a bunch of young folks out there can't work that key because all the new ones (this one good until 2027) look like this Wonder what they'd do if handed a can of beans and a P-38?

Save the empty can...............for whatever reason. I've got plenty of other empty cans out in the shop. I've got to stop collecting them...................for whatever reason.

My wife would never let me put that on the table. I remember my Mom putting sliced pineapple on top and pouring the juice over it. Bake that puppy and served it with potatoes and carrots, and that's a fine meal! I lve ham with my eggs in the morning!

Told her she can use the remainder to make me sammiches or something while I'm recuperating. Around here, I just keep a couple on hand for emergency food. Little sister said the same thing this morning about the pineapple rings, but with cloves and maraschino cherries too. Mom dolled them up a bit, the big 5 pound Dubuque ones.

Expired 2022 huh? Thats barely in the eyebrow raising stage. They got to put something on em'. I'm still working on a 5 lb. bag of grits from 2021. In the fridge in the original bag, inside a zip lock bag. They still good good! About 2/3rds done with them. I'm gonna check on those hams for the "stash". Thanks for the idea.

Go to Dollar Tree, get a 100 strand cotton mop head for $1.25
Save the can, save the lid, drill a hole in the lid, weave the cotton mop wick thru the hole, coil the wick underneath and fill halfway up with kero or baby oil. Make a small wick lantern cruise Could even get more elaborate small bent shield, a 2 finger handle. Throw some chains over your shoulders and wander around like Jakob Marley

Haven’t had that in a very long time Aldi had it for like $3 a tin before Joe Bribem. I got a few stacked up. Stuff has a shelf life like 5-10 years. 😱

I used to get those at Aldi for a song. Shudder to think what they are now with pedoeconomics.

I've got a sealed OD green tin that contains 400+ 45 acps & it has the key. So tempted to pop the seal & hear the hiss, but thinking the 45's might have a bit more shelf life so I'll just keep it set back.
Good luck on the surgery tomorrow!!

What a fall has been taken from smartest man Beaver award to this. Holy schidt I know, it's a shame what happens to a fella hangin' around here with folks like you. I hope to regain some of my smarts by mostly taking a break for the next few weeks. Besides, I'd look even dumber to y'all with my left hand doing all the typing.
