SS is a schit program and should be cancelled immediately! I would vote for Haley on that one alone. Funny everyone bitching about socialism but that’s exactly what sosecurity is! If you are too stupid to invest in your own retirement; then too bad! You should have to work til you die because all you can donis subsist on what sosecurity gives you. Here’s the offramp: Those who are already retired get to keep it. 55+, yours is prorated. Anyone under 55 gets the money they contributed in an IRA of their own choosing. Frankly, you’re a fool if you are counting on SS for your retirement.

I would gladly let the government keep what I have contributed if they would just quit stealing from me. I get the privilege of paying 15.3% of my gross income because I have the audacity to actually work for myself. The government pays you less than 2% on the money you contributed. Can you imagine if I had that $ in a 401k? It would be worth multi-millions at retirement and I would actually own it. My first wife died at 43. The government is keeping every single penny of what she contributed for 20 years of her working life.

If you are sitting in an airconditioned office, like all these butt licks do, sure it's too soon. Try ten hrs. of welding and throwing steel around. Anything that takes actual work, wears people out, yup, just work them to death, keep them paying taxes 'till they die.........God love America!!! The land of the FREE?

We have in our govt service sector the largest collection of thieves, pervs, ignorant, incompetent, blundering idiots ever seen in world history. They accomplish nothing that actually works, what does work they tinker with until it doesn't work, they produce nothing, they prevent nothing, they guard nothing, they have insinuated themselves into every sector of the economy, banking, education, border security, taxing, housing, healthcare, transportation, communication, farming, water, mining and petroleum, wildlife management, forestry, foreign relations (money laundering scheme) etc.... and well and truly f...ked up everything they have ever touched.

Any reasonable solution must include some increase in retirement age, even a small one. When Social Security was conceived (1935) male life expectancy was 58 (benefits kicked in at 65). Today, average male life expectancy is 76.1 years.

The government has been claiming that for as far back as I can remember. The 1980’s at least.

They could end the program and refund us all of the money that they’ve taken in both real wages and taxes on our employers with interest but they’re not about to do that.

It was a socialist Ponzi scheme from the start. The government likes the money and the control. They’re not about to give any of it back. They just want to keep more of it. End it and refund the money (they should but won’t) or shut the [bleep] up Haley.
